Terms and Conditions for Demonstrator Homes competition


1. This competition is not open to employees of Bristol City Council (‘BCC’) Energy Services Team or their family members or anyone else who helped to set up the competition.

2. Details of how to enter this competition may be found here.
3. The closing date for entry is Tuesday 14th October 2014. Any entries received after this date will not be considered.
4. BCC bears no responsibility for entries not received. Entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt.
5. Any entry received from an entrant found not to meet the qualification criteria will be deemed void.
6. BCC reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as reasonably possible by BCC.
7. BCC is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
8. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are non-transferable. BCC reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
9. Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges appointed by BCC.
10. The winners will be notified by [email and/or letter] within [14] days of the closing date. If the winner(s) cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, BCC reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner(s) and pick a replacement winner(s).

12. Upon submitting an entry to this competition, the entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
13. Both the competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
14. The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
15. Only one entry per person per competition. You are responsible for the cost (if any) of sending your prize draw entry to us.
16. BCC accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the prize draw or accepting the prize. BCC further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to your or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the prize draw.
17. BCC reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the prize draw with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of BCC in all matters under its control is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
18. BCC shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.
19. In the event that enabling works are required, the winning householder(s) shall be responsible for meeting these costs and, if they are unwilling or unable to, the Council may at their discretion select an alternative winner(s). The original winner(s) shall not be eligible for any alternative prize.
20. Winning householders are required to enter into an Energy Plan with BCC’s approved Green Deal Provider. Failure to do so may result in the council at its discretion selecting an alternative winner. The original winner(s) shall not be eligible for any alternative prize.
21. BCC’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final.
