Next year Bristol is the European Green Capital. We won this award in recognition of Bristol’s environmental performance and our ambitious sustainability goals for the future.
We are aiming to be the UK’s most sustainable city, but there’s more to be done.
Warm Up Bristol gives residents a fantastic opportunity to make a big difference to their homes as well as the environment.
George Ferguson, Mayor of Bristol, said:
“This is one of the most ambitious energy efficiency drives in the country with some real momentum building. While Warm Up Bristol will make a tangible contribution to Bristol 2015, it extends far beyond that and lays a vital part of the foundations for the most sustainable city in years to come. It’s thanks to the people who live here that we’ve come so far already. I’d like, personally, to encourage everyone to consider the Warm Up Bristol initiative. We're aiming to significantly reduce the energy used in Bristol over the next four years and this scheme will play a significant role in making that happen. Together, I am determined we can make Bristol a healthier and happier place to live.”
Bristol is the only UK city to have been named as European Green Capital. For more information about the award and what’s happening next year, visit the Bristol 2015 website to find out more.
